1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport instruments failure?

The gauges on my instrument panel began working sporadically immediately after after an interior detailing including Amour All to the steering column. The airbag light stays on while the gauges are dead when I first start the vehicle. They do, however, occasionally come back on with the air bag light going out after a half hour or so of driving when the vehicle is turned off and the turned back on. I'm thinking a liquid short of some type. Any ideas of where to begin looking based on the circuitry involved?
