In oregon do i need a tag to hunt private land?

Im new to hunting, and my friend invited me to go camping this weekend and hunt/fish, but i did not think it was really season, he said there were "deer and sh*t" there. This is on his friends private property too. Do i need a deer tag and a hunting license to shoot a deer or other animals? im considering just going as an observer
