Can they take me to court?

Going to try to make this as short as possible. Over a month ago I was at a friend's house. I was parked at an odd angle and trying to back out of a driveway into a super crowded dead end street trying not to hit cars behind me. Well this was at 3:30 in the morning.... Back up to 11:30 p.m. Friends and I were at a club and I had 2 beers from 11:30 to about 12:00. I then stopped knowing I had to drive home later. Well after we left the club around 1:30 we all went to Ihop and ate and then my friend drove me home, because I rode with her previously to the club, and the other group of friends were going somewhere else. Well we got home and I backed out of the driveway and I hit someone's jeep. I thought it was the neighbors so I left my insurance card and my number. I then called my friend and told her about it and told her I would be back in the morning to meet with the neighbors. She told me it was her friend's car so we I met with her the next day. The next part of the story is that there had already been previous damages to her bumper. She claimed on the insurance company that it was only the passenger side that had previous damage. When I looked at her bumper the next day it was all messed up and the only damages I saw from my car was a dent on the driver side. The only damage done to my car was a broke tail light and it was hardly cracked. Now she is telling me I owe her 500 dollars because that's what the insurance won't pay. Do I actually have to pay her anything? And if I don't can she take me to court?
