Detour of "Wouldn't".?

What is another way of saying the word: "Wouldn't". I'm writing an essay and I thought that it wasn't a very good word to use. I already tried using the famous search engine 'Google' but it just gave me something like: "Another way of saying another way of saying". That last sentence wouldn't make any sense if you just read it the first time, but you could have understood what it meant that second.
