Looking into buying a new car. Suggestions?

We currently have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am coupe and a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. My husband uses the Pontiac for work and back because of the gas mileage so I drive the Jeep...that gets crappy gas mileage. We're keeping them both because a Jeep comes in handy in the winter. I am a stay at home mom but I drive an awful lot so the Jeep is killing me on gas. I'm looking to get a small-ish 4 door something but don't know what. Suggestions?
