Which hitch receiver is better for moving?

I have a 2008 jeep patriot 2wd and we are moving from ar to tx (about 500 miles). We are renting a trailer to haul big bulky items. (couches, w/d, mattresses) which would work best: curt class 2 hitch receiver or curt class 3 hitch receiver? Or do you know of a better and cheaper one. (found these for 129.99 and 139.99)
