Will someone that knows a lot about cars please help me?

I want a 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. People keep trying to talk me out of it because of gas prices. I'm not rich, not poor, just making it. I've also heard jeeps are a lot more costly in the shop. A Jeep is the only reasonably priced car I've set my sights on. Can you give me a round about estimate of how much more I'd be spending on gas for a Jeep versus a Honda Accord?
